We decided to go downtown for the annual Downtown for the Holidays event, mainly because Alchemy was giving away free bang trims (which I desperately needed) and 5 minute chair massage (which Brant desperately needed).
I always love talking to Alchemy's Melissa; technically you could say our businesses are 'rivals,' each promoting eco-friendly fare, each of us promoting natural and organic hair and skincare. But luckily we don't work that way! I love patronizing her store, recommending her to customers who are looking for something slightly different than what Radiance carries. And she gives a mean brow wax & dye.
After visiting Alchemy, stopping into Radiance, and viewing all the lovely craft-show style booths (so many ideas for a skin care buyer to look into!!), we headed to the Bread Peddler for some emergency nursing. One of our BFFs works there, and made me a fabulous tuna nicoise (my 1 fish of this kind per every like, 3 months). Sitting and nursing, suddenly the Holiday parade began. It was great to be able to sit inside, out of the cold and the loud music, and enjoy it from afar.
Though I have my own ideas about the parade (if you're gonna do a parade, please go all out. Don't just dress whatever you can in garland and call it a day), it was still pretty magical.
