Due Date

So today is my due date.  I know this is relatively meaningless~just a guess, a ball-park date.  But it still makes me anticipate so much that it's a little ridiculous.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, I'd been certain baby'd come a little early.  Then, due to family circumstances, I was asked (jokingly, of course!) not to have him until my due date, so that my mom could be there.  It sounds silly, since many will tell you that the baby's going to come on her/his own time, but I really think we (baby and me) made a decision to wait until today.  But now I don't know how much longer we'll be waiting!!  I also realized last night that I might be holding him back a little, just until some last-minute projects are done.  I've heard this happens sometimes, especially for first time moms; we have the power to stop or prolong our labor, based on our emotional comfort.  If something doesn't feel safe, we won't go into labor.

Brant pointed out that if we wait just 4-5 days, he'll be a Virgo, rather than a Leo.  I laughed, because in our house we have a running joke; it's two Sagittarius people vs me, the lone Virgo.  It'd be hilarious to have another ally.  I can imagine my little organized toddler baffling the hell out of Dad.  How great would that be?!!

But the downside is that I have a very, very good friend--one of my best friends--leaving town very soon. In fact, she's only stayed in town this long to see my little baby.  So I need him to get here before she has to leave!!

Actually, soon I'll have a whole slew of 'professional' pregnancy pictures at 40 weeks (even some with Brant!) but I can't find the energy to upload them to my computer yet.  They'll be here though...but you might see some pictures of baby first!!!
