Strangers Should Know Better

Just a quick note for this post...

Brant and I were at Value Village, looking for glass jars to make sun tea in, and an elder lady walked up to me and rubbed my belly.

I almost punched her.

And I'd thought I'd make it the whole pregnancy without having someone I don't know think they have the right to touch my person.  Guess not.

I wish I'd been able to verbally defend myself, but I was so livid, all I could do was walk away as she asked when baby was due.  I said 'August' in a mean way, but Brant politely responded, 'August 18th.'

I still kinda wish I'd hit her.  But maybe I'm just being irritable.

  1. Some people feel so entitled to touch your belly... it's odd. I had a co worker who was awful about it and would practically massage my belly for what felt like forever. Aside from her, I didn't mind much. If someone would ask, I'd let them. (Though mostly because I was unprepared with a response.) Once my belly stopped feeling like MY typical chub that a person WOULD be slapped for touching, it wasn't a huge deal to me. But yeah, strangers should NEVER do this. Even non strangers are questionable.
