Belly Button Saga

It's weird.  Some would (and do) say it's gross.  It's changing, morphing day-by-day, and making me a little queasy.  It's my belly button.

I know it's a bizarre thing to focus on, out of the entirety of this pregnancy, but still~it's impossible for me to ignore!  I just don't understand it.  Each day it seems on the verge of popping out, but it hasn't quite yet; it seems like it needs just a little extra push.  I'm used to having 'an innie,' not 'an outie,' and this in-between crap is hard to handle.  I'm impatient.

I think the other un-handleable thing about it is that my stomach is getting so...taut, and so is my belly button...and it feels weird/uncomfortable when I accidentally brush it...and you can see it through my shirts, the top half of it sticking out...It's weird, okay?

I thought of taking photos to document it's journey from innie to outie, but at this point it's so close...it'd be a pretty short series.

Anyways, I'll finish my rant.

  1. hahah. It's so funny how some people get like that and some people don't. My belly button got like shallow but it never got to be an outie. I wonder what the percentages are as far as that goes... Anyway, I could see how it being brushed up against would feel funny.

  2. I have a super deep belly button, so it never popped all the way out... and I'm kind of glad, because I'm not a fan of outies. But it did get flush, and it's flush/flat again right now. It's funny how taut your belly gets, eh? But that's good, it means your baby has plenty of room to splash around inside! ;)

Be warned, though - most women I know have huge caverns for belly buttons after delivery. Mine grew SO much, it's crazy... in fact, it actually looks more "normal", or the way it used to look, now that I'm pregnant again!
